Hello Friends,
I hope this message finds you in good health. I want to share something personal with you and at the same time invite you to take part with me on a special journey. I was recently diagnosed with Osteoporosis and my Doctor recommended daily weight-bearing activities like walking as it can support bone formation, slow bone loss and thereby reduce the risk of falls and fractures. Unfortunately, I have been experiencing challenges in maintaining a daily walk routine, which is highly concerning as it can lead to more bone loss. Having witnessed my mom's experience with two hip fractures and surgeries, which ultimately led to her decline, I am determined not to share the same fate.
I am reaching out to you as I am sure there are others facing a similar challenge, and I'd like to propose starting a collective walk challenge together. We can offer each other support both as accountability partners and motivators. There are plenty of reasons to start this journey together like promoting healthier bones, managing weight, reducing stress, enhancing mobility, or simply enjoying a daily stroll, not to mention soaking up some natural Vitamin D!
Starting this coming Monday, I invite you to join me in committing to walk for at least 20 minutes every day for the next 30 days, or until it becomes a regular part of your daily routine.
Walking is one of the most cost-effective and accessible paths to better health. It's an activity that almost anyone can participate in, regardless of age or fitness level.
